We’re proud to announce that we’re back for the third year of the International Dieselpunk Day celebration! For those new to our site, our goal is to coordinate with Dieselpunks around the world to host parties, movie viewings, as well as other events to promote the exciting phenomenon of Dieselpunk.
This year in each post we’re going to focus on a different 1920s themed restaurant or nightclub around the world where dieselpunks can go to celebrate International Dieselpunk Day.
Our first entry is about Bathtub Gin in New York, USA.
According to CBS 2: “A new speakeasy behind Stone Street Coffee Shop, Bathtub Gin offers a clandestine scene on the outskirts of the Meatpacking District. Enter the coffee shop and look for a red light above a false wall leading to a ’20s style lounge complete with a clawfoot copper tub and waitresses in flapper garb. The cocktail menu is heavy on gin, such as the Sloe Gin Flip and the Raspberry Gin Fizz, and if you’re hungry, you can also order from a traditional pub food menu.”
