The Candlelight Club in London is about as dieselpunk as a club can get.
They describe themselves at their web site as, “a clandestine pop-up cocktail bar in a secret London venue, a stunning, tucked-away den with a 1920s speakeasy flavour, completely lit by candles. Each party offers a one-off cocktail menu, with special themes, plus dancing to live 1920s jazz bands and vintage DJing.”
The Candlelight Club has a Diesel Era dress code. According to their web site, “flappers, gangsters and molls, degenerate aristos, decadent aesthetes, corrupt politicians and the Smart Set In the Know. Evening wear or jackets and ties for gents. No T-shirts, jeans or trainers. Hen parties very welcome but, please, no L-plates or phallic objects.” To show their seriousness about this, the site has a page of shops that one can purchase Diesel Era clothing.
According to the web site, the club’s location is only available via email when one purchases a ticket.
