Noir Lounge

This month we spotlight the Noir Lounge in San Francisco, USA.

noirheading2According the clubs Twitter page: “Noir Lounge will take you back to the 1940’s, where cool jazz and romantic vibes took center stage. Great wine, great bites and better times.”

SFGate web site writes, “A San Francisco bar going for a Dashiell Hammett feel, complete with piano bar, could end up just being a caricature of itself. Yet, Noir Lounge fits into the Hayes Valley landscape just fine. With gold-painted domed ceilings and leather armchairs, it has a calming atmosphere that makes you want to curl up with a glass of wine and maybe even slow down long enough to listen to that piano music.”

581 Hayes St. (near Laguna), S.F. (415) 431-6647.
3-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, until midnight Friday-Saturday, until 9 p.m. Sunday.

Prohibition

Our spotlight this month is on the bar “Prohibition”, located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

prohibitionlogoAccording to their web site:

Prohibition is a swanky Buckhead club with the feel of a 1920s underground speakeasy. While it’s not a members-only club, guests can only enter by securing the evening’s password and dialing it into the antique phone booth entry way. While Prohibition is anything but dry, our mixologists craft cocktails from a recipes book passed down for generations.
